Melody shifted uncomfortably. "Your 'shape shifting' abilities is from magic, isn't it?" She rubbed her forehead, feeling uneasy. "We'd have to fight like humans first- and save magic before using our gifts. Outside, our gifts are non existant coz magic isn't strong enough- even for a simple healing power." She knew from rumours that Jenny was a strong being- but knew from expierence that even the strongest would be lucky to summon smoke if the magic's failing. In her own world, she too, was considered the strongest; though the wizard knew more and had more gifts. "First, we save magic- then do what needs to be done," Melody suggested.

"From another world entirely, one which is no more." She sighed sadly. "My real parents sent me to earth so that I would be safe. Since then I have looked out for this planet, Melody. Magic may be dying in this world, but mine comes from outside the world, so I will be able to use such things." She smiled. "Maybe to make things easier, I could create another portal. They are things of magic and you saw me make one with little effort outside before. I could easily get it to transport us straight to the place you need to bury the thing. Would save time."

Melody frowned, that made very little sense to her. "That don't add up. My magic isn't from this world either- or from this universe- and my magic is affected. My gem of truth" she said, revealing the clear gem from around her neck, "is barely working, but is partially unaffected enough to warn me when someone is lying to me." She shook her head, "Do you have anything- an item or something, that makes your magic immune to the failing magic in this world?" She asked, if she had, it would make sense why he magic is untainted by the dying world.

"I do actually." She reached under the collar of her shirt, withdaring a long chain. Eventually though, out popped a ruby which was the size of her fist, though shaped like a heart. It was shining with light and she knew all of them would feel its power. "This is from Gaurdiaus, my home planet. Every Gaurdian born there was given one of them. It is immune to anything that might stop my magic from working, though my water magic is strained."
She smiled as she hid it back under her clothes. "I will more than a match for tnose humans. As for the hole? I can control the earth so we need not get sweaty digging."

Melody thought for a moment. That made sense. "Even so," she sighed, "those of us who depend on magic- with or without items to aid us- we can still feel the bond. Either feeling our magic is weakened; taking more effort than usual, or our item glowing brighter than usual; either way, we can notice the difference and know that there is something wrong with magic- otherwise, we wouldn't know if anything was wrong at all at a first glance. Know what I'm saying?" She rubbed her eyes, fretting about the magic still. Jenny's magic item aided her despite the failing world. Her own gem of truth though, was almost as dorment as the magic. It could only viberate with a glimmer of light, instead of the full feel of viberation and beaming light to make the liar known. She sighed, remembering it was a gift from her friends. Though, the prophet was far from friendly. She stared at the window with a distant look in her eyes; remembering how Bane had called the prophet Squawk instead of his real name, Squall.

She chuckled at two things. The first being the name in Melody's head, the other at her words. "Of course I understand what you're saying." There was no doubt in her mind about that. "We should get going, the sooner the better. Where exactly does this thing have to be buried. I'll create a portal to get us there, so its done quicker."

Melody struggled to think of the name of the small village she passed, but knew only bout the location. "There's a small village to the East, bout half hour walk from here. I can't remember the name. The breech is opposite the library, about five mins from the inn. Do you know it?" she frowned, unsure who lived in which world or universe these days. She sighed, 'I'll be home soon, Bane,' she preyed silently.

She closed her eyes for a few moments, letting her mind range out over the plains until she located where Melody had spoken of. Opening them she said, "I know where it is... there is a group of ley lines, or magic lines condensed in one spot. It's there that it has to bury."

Melody frowned, "It should be where I landed when I came through the breech." She sighed again, the villagers were going to cause a problem, she knew it. Marvin shrugged, "If you get hurt or killed, don't say I didn't warn you," he muttered. He wiped his sweaty palms on his green flannel shirt and trousers. His balding silver hair continued to shred over his clothes.

"Considering I am like a predator for you humans, pissing me off would not be a good idea for them. They will not be able to stop us, there are many things that i can do to ensure we both survive. Ignore him, Melody." She glared at Marvin.
There was not a chance she was going to let this fail. She would do everything in her power for them not to fail. "Neither of you have seen my ultimate power, actually not even Ashleigh has."

Ashleigh blinked, unaware of the subject of the conversation.
"I know. But I want to take a look at the woods on the way down. There's something wrong with the scene. I just can't put my finger on it," Melody grimaced.
Marvin rolled his eyes, "I know what's wrong with it. It's bloodied soil, probably from an animal's lunch. And the blossom tree sets the woods view nicely."
Melody glared at him, folding her arms. "Animal blood I disagree," she muttered.

"Oh shut up, Marvin. You don't know what you're dealing with. I know many more things that you could never imagine, boy!" This time, she had snarled at him, fangs bared in her anger. It was clear she was not pleased by the way he was acting.
She was really getting annoyed with him now, and it had shown in her voice. There was nothing she hated more than someone trying to make it seem like they knew more than they really did.
Though him testing her like this was a bad idea, Ashliegh be d**ned. She really was sruggling to resist killing him herself, seeing as she knew he was going to be a traitor to Melody. She was... barely resisting.

Ashleigh blinked, she had passed that part of the woods herself. "It's not animal blood. It smells like human blood." Melody blinked, "Human? Are you sure?" Ashleigh nodded, glaring at Marvin, who she was all ready sick of. Marvin forced a laugh, "It's animal blood. I know what I am talking about- you're all nuts- none of you either come from my world!" Ashleigh stepped forward, grabbing Marvin by the throat and lifted him off his feet. "How about showing some respect? Less you want me to spill your blood to compare with the bloodied soil!"

"Not something wise to do in front of me, Ashleigh. I may not have bloodlust effecting me right now, but that does not mean I'm not thirsty." She growled, knowing that temptation was something she was usually able to get past. But at the moment, she knew that this was a time when that became hardly possible. She did not want anything to give her reason to hurt anyone who was in this room now. But there was the annoyance of Marvin that was starting to really bug her. Soon, she knew she would not be able to resist.
Though she was not pleased about that, she knew what she was capable of, and she would really try hard not to fall for it. The outcome that would happen if she did fall to her greatest temptation was something that was enough at the moment to keep herself from doing that which she really wanted to do to him. This was a pain which she was not good at holding onto fighting against. Things really were pushing her to her limits at the moment. Grimacing, she turned and walked outside into the fresh air, knowing that only Henry would be able to follow her and not be attacked right now.
Marvin was really pushing her buttons. The whole idea of her not knowing one type of blood from another, was a rediculous suggestion from him, and it was the thing that enraged her most. She knew every different blood from its smell. It was one of her own kills that was out there, which he had seen. A huge buck, almost as tall as she was. The last meal she'd had before fighting Slargon. Her eyes glared at the wall where there was no mark to show where he had died.
She was sure that she had killed him. Walking over she rested one hand on the wall. There was nothing there to show that there had been a struggle. Nothing to show that blood had been spilt there. She could feel no trace of the fire which had encased her nemesis either. This seemed completely wrong. "What has happed here?" she growled to herself. Every place one had died left a mark of some sort. For one not to be where her enemy had be killed was something that felt bad for her. What had happened here?

Melody looked down at the bloodied soil, dusting off the top layer. A face began to be uncovered. She grimaced, tears welling up. It was a woman, who to her, looked very familiar. "Maggie," she said, naming the corpse. "I guess the villagers weren't so keen on discovering I had killed their men."
Marvin shuddered, 'I knew it. I knew we'd get into trouble. This d**n woman is going to get herself- and me killed!' "Are you sure you want to continue to the village with the cystalyst? They'll be waiting for us you know," he growled.
Melody sighed, "Look, we'll go at night, when everyone is sleeping. Then, if we are attacked afterwards- we'll kill them quickly and quietly."
"With your magic?" he asked, wrinkling his nose. Melody could hear his disgust in his voice.
She sighed, "What difference would it make how they die? Dead is dead."
