The clock chimed midnight and the doors swung open. Once again, the six keepers enter through the entrance of the peculiar bar. Grim faced, they sat at their usual table- round and hidden in the shadows in the far corner. Jason Pike poured out some drinks for the keepers, and placed them on the table.
He tells the keepers that soon, there will be a seventh keeper. They are puzzled, and Jason explains that his wife is pregnant with a son. Until then, they had another problem. They needed someone to stay in the bar, and keep the gateway closed. They all decide that the seventh keeper should be the one to do it. Jason is not happy with the decision made, but the majority had spoken. He goes home, forcing a smile, keeping the secret silent. Until the seventh keeper is of age, they agree to remain taking shifts, telling no one of what lays beyond.
A door opens, and a woman and man enters. The keepers are suprised; they hadn't had customers for over a generation. They tell the keepers that they would like a strong drink and over hear the couple talking about a prophecy. Jason Pike; who was desprate to know more, gets roped into helping the couple- only to discover that the couple didn't know the half of what was going on.
