Why the hell had the book I had taken from one of the shelves contained that chapter about soul mates? It seemed that there was meant to be someone for everyone, but who they were we would not know until we saw them. It was something which seemed rediculous.
I thought back over the chapter, wondering if the contents was true though.
Over the long history of angels, there is no part of the history more fascinating than that of one finding one’s other half or soul mate.
When a soul mate is found, the vampyre knows the moment that they meet. No angel knows when this meeting will happen, nor can its timing be predicted by any gift a angel may have.
Never however has it occurred between angel and slayer. Though it is common between vampyre and another type of demon, such as a werewolf. It is not a rare thing for that to occur.
The effects of a slayer ever choosing an angel would not be recognizable. Nor would they be thought of as an agel any more unless the slayer knows what happened, not that any of them have ever wanted to admit it.. Then however it is not possible to ignore for either side. Nor can they avoid each other for long lengths of time.
Little is known about how a slayer would react, but it is likely that this will be a significant change for both sides.
Sighing, I turned towards the skies, winging my way towards the usual place that I roamed during the night. As an angel I had to defend myself from the slayers, but there was not one who I had not managed to beat yet. A lot of them cowered when they saw me, and that was getting a little annoying.
I turned towards where I saw one of the werewolves being cornered by five of the slayers. "Hey! Share the fight with someone else!" I called, wings errupting from my back as I soared towards the injured wolf. I landed, black eagle wings spreading out majestically. "Whats this wolf done to cause such bad feelings between you, other than being a werewolf?"
There had to be a reason, and the werewolf knew now was the time for him to get out of here, while I dealt with them. Where I could, I defended those being attacked, and I cared not that I was dealing with humans who thought they could take on anything.
I was the most elite of all the arch angels, and I could see that some of the humans before me had taken an unvolountary step backwards away from me, though others stayed where they were.
