Henry looked around at his empty bar. It was that time of the month again, as it has been for generations. He opened the doors, and waited for the universes to open. It wasnt an every day thing, or else war would be invetable. Once a month, the door would open and all the universes would be able to interact as one. The tables were clean and shone. The floors were polished, and the blood, limbs and anything from the last three years were cleaned and disposed of. It wasn't long after until the first customer walked in.

She chuckled as she moved to the familiar pub she had known for some time now. It was a place even she felt happy, and safe. Though she knew she was not really safe there. Things were all so different now, seeing as she knew she was the last of her kind. Henry though was aware of this. But as sure as hell, she swore as something threw her backwards away from the door of the pub. "Henry!"
Another pair of people, with long pointy ears moved past her, moving easily into the pub, without anything to stop them though. One was a tall blond woman with clear sky blue eyes. The other was a tall man with brown hair and cobalt blue eyes. Two other men followed after them.

Henry grinned, instantly recognising the voice. "Jenny!" he greeted happily, and pleasantly suprised by her visit. It had been almost a week since he had saw her last. He opened the door, and held her hand and lead her through.
The air was cool around them. As soon as he lead her into the main room, someone else walked through the door.
Dyson looked around, pulling his hood over his head. He wasn't sure what he was doing in there- knowing only that he needed a drink. He looked around, pulling down his hood.. 'Maybe no one will notice my ears,' he thought silently. He asked for a gin tonic, and held his hands over his pointed elf like ears. He could just about reach the bar. Despite being 21 years old, he wasn't much taller than 4 ft. He looked around once more, watching the other customers tower above him. He had never felt so small. Finding his way across the room, he found a free seat beside the blacked out windows.

She swore again before he came out. It was clear she was not impressed that the barrier kept stopping her from entering the building that was almost like a second home to her when there was no chance for her to be at her real house. "Hey Henry." She smiled as she took his hand and followed her into the bar. "That barrier's back again, which is starting to get a little annoying. Seems to keep coming back at the start of a new month." She sighed though, relieved to be back here. "It's good to have a chance to relax. Being the Headmistress of a school's not easy work. One of the girls at the school, Vasilisa Dragomir is the last of her family line. Because of that, security's really high at the moment, seeing as someone's been hunting her family down. If I have to rush off all of a sudden, you'll know why. I'm kind of her Gaurdian myself."
Drannor chuckled as the new guy came into the room. "Well, this is interesting. It seems that Keya is not the only one with parentage like hers," he told Gem. It was annoying the amount of things he was called these days, after he married her. Not to mention after she became the queen. "What do you mean, love?" Gem asked, itching under the ornate crown that rested on her brow. It had many stringy bits of light metal attacked to it and was decorated with a massive ornate butterfly on both the front and back. "He's half human, half elf. As for the other woman... I'm not sure what to make of her. Part of her's like me, but the rest is nothing we have ever seen before." "A halfling, Prince Consort Drannor?" asked one of the oher elves.

Henry sighed, he must do somethiing bout that barrier. He smiled, getting an idea. He passed her an amulet, gazing down at the embedded symbol of a door. "Wear this," he cheered. He was going to give it to her a week later as a gift anyway. "It's a magic amulet. It will let you through even the most dangerous of places. Places, even I, are unable to get through." He smiled, "You can come and go as you please without being thrown back."
Dyson's ears burned, hearing himself be mentioned. He had hoped that no one would notice. Halflings were not always liked. He himself, had been exiled from his own land as soon as the elders discovered his blood line was not pure. He hid his ears, throwing his hood back over his head.

Gem noticed that the other seemed a little worried that he'd been figured out. She smiled though at him. "It's alright, we're not against you for what you are. My own cousin is a half elf, and she was fathered by one who I still fight against. he's my worst enemy, and her mother's my aunt." "Why bother trying to explain our world to an outsider, Your Majesty?" one of the other elves replied. "Because its only fair that people here know what we are, and why we're here," Gem replied. "I doubt that any of them could do us any damage," Drannor added. "You don't even know him, Lord General Silverleaf," came the other elf's reply. "Enough, gentlemen!" Gem growled.
Jenny smiled as she took the amulet from him. "Thank you, Henry." She sighed though. "I might be part wnat Drannor says I am, but the rest of me is something beyound any of your worlds. Only Henry here knows about me completely. For only he have I told." The fact that she chose to reveal Drannor's name without even being introduced caused the elves to stare at her in silence. "Uh oh."

Dyson shied away from the other elves; ashamed of his ears and inheritance. He cringed, sipping at his drink in silence. The bar fell silent, and the bell above the entrance began to ring. A woman walked in, looking around the room. Dyson glanced at her before quickly turning away. The woman had an air about her, as though she was someone of great importance. "I'll have a tonic- no gin," she announced, not approaching the bar. She looked at the small tables and approached one a few seats away from where Dyson sat, waiting for her drink. "Where's my drink?" The woman raged, not even seated for ten seconds before demanding once more. A man entered the room, over hearing the woman's order. He seemed to know her. "Marissa? Is that you I can hear all the way from the other side of the universe?" The woman glared at him, observing him in disgust. "You must be hearing things, Theo. You always were a dreamer," the woman retorted. Victor Dyson watched as Henry placed the drink in front of Marrisa. "Thank you. Next time, maybe I should order in advance?" she sneered. Victor sunk into his seat, suddenly wishing that he'd sat somewhere far away from her. Theo glanced at him, sblack personing quietly to himself. Henry glared at Marrisa, placing her receipt on to the table beside her glass. "If you should order in advance with that attitude, you would never have got served," he growled. He walked away, his blood boiling at the woman's disrespect.
He turned to Jenny, and a smile spread across his lips. "I was going to give you the amulet for your birthday next week," he whispered. "And cook you the best dinner you've had in generations," he grinned.

"I might warn you... Marrisa, that angering me would be a very bad thing to do. So i suggest that you do not anger him or me!" the words burst from Jenny's mouth without a second thought. "If Henry was to quit because of you, this bar would not exist!" It was clear that she was not pleased about the disrespect that he was being shown by the other woman. As she turned her attention back to Henry though, her anger subsided as she hid the amulet in one of the deepest pockets of what she was wearing. "How do you know this will let me into places even you can't go?" Her hand reached out and took his easily. *** "Some spells can do that to items," Drannor replied as he looked over at the amulet she was hiding. "I can feel the strength coming from that. You're lucky to have one of those, they are rare." He looked at Marissa. "You think you're someone important don't you? Well, your not to any of us. I guess I ought to introduce myself and my companions. My wife here is Queen Gemstarzah Vestelle Hawksong, Queen of Nuban. I am Prince Consort Drannor Silverleaf, Lord of Taror, General of the Army and Her Majesties Best Gaurd. Our companions are Captains Haemir Agrivar and General Glenawing Firesword, both members of the royal Gaurd known as the Hawkblades." There was nothing he hated more than for others to think that they were better than everyone else.

Henry smiled at Jenny, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, I am not about to quit." He sighed sadly. "It belonged to my father who ran this bar before me. It got him into every barred building in every universe."
Victor Dyson stared at Henry talking to the woman. Something about the story sounded familiar.
Marrisa, who fell silent after the confrontation, merely snorted. "I am important. You just don't know me."

"Oh is that so? From here you don't look it." Drannor smirked. "Believe me, there is not a thought in your head that shouts anything about being important, human." He chuckled though, he liked invading human minds. They were no different from the elves around him, only the humans could not stop him from entering without their permission. They were too weak to have that ability. Gem laughed as he spoke. She knew well enough what he was talking about. Her mate was certainly hard to keep out of ones mind, even she struggled, but at times she did not mind him being in her own head. That was not something she was too bothered about really. She actually liked it a fair bit. Drannor would always be welcome in her head.
"There's a new class of students at the school now, Henry. That's why you haven't seen as much of me at the moment as you used to. Though I do have something for you actually." Jenny dug aroudn in her pockets for the envelope. She knew what it comtained. A letter from Karen. She handed it to him, knowing that it read:
Dear Mr Pike, I would like to formally extend an invitation to you to come and live here in the Vampyre Finishing School as one of the teachers. I know that it is hard for one of the staff, Jenny Night to be away from you, and would hope that you would take up this offer. Yours Sincerely, Professor Karen Moon Deputy Headmistress

Henry smiled as he read the letter. He glanced at Jenny beside him. "I would love to," he grinned. Reading it again. "You can tell Karen I would gladly accept- and then tell her hello for me." He liked Karen, from little he saw of her. Karen treated Jenny well.

"They fear for me when I am out here seeing you. They fear for me because its known that the Slayers try to get me, after all, you remember at my mother's funeral how one of them tried to kill me? Sadly, that's not the last I've heard of them." She sighed as she reached down and muttered the healing words again. "Why do they always have to get me in the lower calf? It's getting quite monotonuos really." She chuckled. "And I will let her know for you. She likes you, she knows you won't be trouble for them there, else she would not offer an invitation like that one." She laughed though. "By the way, the title of Headmistress happens to be mine."

Henry grinned, feeling honoured. "This means we'd never be apart," he cheered. He grasped the pendant from around his neck, biting his lower lip. The pendant was a silver circle, with a shape of a key in the center. The pendant slipped back under his shirt, held on to by a thick chain. "Maybe you can live with me here?" he suggested. "Do you know anyone you can trust, to sit in whilst we're at the school?" He sighed, looking around. "This place is important- and must not be left unoccupied."

"There are two other werewolves who were in Rudi's pack who might be able to do that. they look up to me and I trust them." She smiled at him. "They would do anything for me, though usually when I go to visit them, James always pins me." It was something she was happy about. "I'll go and let her know, and I'll drop by on the way to talk to the the wolves. Be back soon okay?" She smiled and kissed him gently. She would have to hunt while she was out as well.

Henry smiled, wondering if she was considering living with him in the bar. As it'd be her home, the barrier would not go against her- with or without the amulet.
Dyson watched as Theo approached him. The odd bar, certainly was busier than he expected it to be. "Any idea why we're here?" he asked, taking a seat. Dyson shook his head, still mute. "Me neither- but I am assuming that we must be someone important- this place is full of royalty." Dyson glanced uncomfortably at Marrison Rose. "What about her?" Dyson asked, his voice barely a whisper. "Oh her?" Theo chuckled. "She's the least important - but royalty also. She isn't born into this though. She was... widdowed into it." He looked back at Marrisa Rose again, "Yeh, she seems the type. Like a leech." Theo nodded, "She's the Queen of a small Island- called Castover."
Victor raised an eye brow, glancing at the other elves. "Castover? Sounds like a place full of exile." Theo nodded. "That's right. Everyone there was exiled to that Island- and guess who went and made herself queen?"
Dyson and Theo looked at her in silent disgust.
